All tourists who will depart within 90 days are eligible to get a VAT refund of up to 6%. Ask for a VAT refund once you have spent 2,000 baht at department stores or shops in Emporium or Emquartier. If you do not wish to collect your VAT refund at the airport, you can get cash right away at the downtown location when you spend a minimum of 5,000 baht.
